Thorton Abell was bon in 1906. After working for several successful architectural firms, Abell taught architectura and design at the Chouinard Art Institute and the University of Souothern California School of Architecture. Abell built Case Study House # 7 which was completed in 1949. Thorton Abell died in 1984.



Gelatin Silver Print: Unframed on Backboard. Image size: 9 1/2" x 13 1/2" (24.13 x 34.29 cm.), Paper size: 11" x 14"  (27.94 x 35.56 cm). Shulman's studio stamp and job number in ink on verso. This print was used at exhibitions and as a working print for the final product and has some measurements written in red pencil onlower front edge. 
Signature stamped on verso by Julius Shulman at his Hollywood Hills Studio.

Image is in Excellent Condition with the exception of some very slight wear marks on edges and print has been mounted on thin backboard.
